Smart Update is a simple way of keeping your version of MapInfo Professional up to date. If you have MapInfo Professional installed, you can go to the Help -> Check For Update menu to avoid having to manually enter your serial number and version number. For MapInfo Professional, the serial number can be found within the Help -> About dialog. Your version number must be entered in the following format x.x.x.xxbb, where "bb" is the build number. For example, for MapInfo Professional version 8.5 build 11, the version number would be 8.5.0.0011
